hydrating body scrub salt sugar

Hydrating Body Scrub

$89 | 60 minutes

This treatment smooths away dry and dead skin on the entire body while restoring vital nutrients to tired skin. A combination of customized exfoliating salts or sugars and optional essential oils will either relax, energize or detoxify the body and soothe the senses. After your shower, a natural shea butter, customized to compliment your scrub choice, is applied to leave your skin soft and moisturized.

Salt Scrubs (Dead Sea Salt)
Sea salts exfoliate, detoxify and balance the skin. At Studio M Salon and Spa, we use salt from the Dead Sea, known by many as the source for sea salt. Sea salt is more aggressive than sugar. Salt from the Dead Sea benefits many common skin ailments such as psoriasis, allergies, and skin aging.

Brown Sugar Scrubs
A gentler agent than salt, sugar is naturally rich in AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) which is used in many skincare products. AHA is shown to support healthier, uniformly colored and smoother skin. For clients with dry or very dry skin, sugar scrubs can be very beneficial as sugar naturally hydrates the skin without clogging pores and is absorbed completely in one minute.

Medical massages focus on specific medical needs and are used to manage pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, relieve nerve compression, increase range of motion, or to treat a variety of other health care concerns. During your medical massage, your therapist will target your specific needs by employing a broad range of therapies and advanced techniques for muscle health and recovery. Your therapist will provide you with a targeted plan for your treatment including specific recommendations for a series of timed visits. You can also expect to see the same therapist for the entirety of your treatment plan to ensure the very best outcome. Read more below about the various techniques we use to deliver a comprehensive treatment for your pain management.

orthopedic massage palm springs

Orthopedic Massage

A multidisciplinary approach to restore structural balance and address soft-tissue dysfunction, pain and injury. Through functional assessment and history-taking, we will determine the pathology of the musculoskeletal complaint and match the appropriate body work technique. The therapist will look at the range of motion, flexibility, and rotation of the tissues. This will help them determine what muscle groups and tendons are involved and which techniques would be best. Your massage therapist will use an assortment of soft-tissue techniques to help loosen muscles and tendons. These techniques include: Myofascial release, Jones strain/counterstrain, MET, cross fiber friction, Swedish & deep tissue massage

cupping therapy palm springs

Cupping Therapy

A negative pressure therapy that has been used in many cultures dating back thousands of years. The use of suction separates layers of connective tissue, softens tight muscles and releases adhesions in muscle tissue very efficiently with little or no discomfort. Adhesions or “knots” in a muscle that are sensitive to the positive pressure of massage are often released with a cup placed for as little as 90 seconds. Suction pulls stagnant blood, lymph, cellular debris and toxins that have been stored in the muscle tissue to the surface, making it easier for the lymphatic system to dispose of it. Cupping Therapy feels good and is very relaxing. The pulling action engages the parasympathetic nervous system, creating a deep relaxation response. Cupping Therapy can be included in any massage session.

manual lymphatic drainage palm springs

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

A light skin stretching treatment that is designed to help move lymph fluid back into functioning lymph vessels and reroute it out of your swollen limb. It is a very light and gentle treatment that should not be confused with a traditional massage. It is most often used for lymphedema treatment. It is also an excellent modality for detoxification, edema and pre and post-surgery. MLD is also an extremely effective modality for early injuries where traditional massage therapy is contraindicated. When we relieve the swelling, we reduce the pain, speed the rate of healing and increase range of motion.

cranio-sacral therapy palm springs

Cranio-Sacral Therapy

A gentle, non-invasive form of bodywork. It has been called the most subtle yet profound form of bodywork there is. It works with the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. It is a modality in which the body is listened to and the practitioner follows the patterns as it tells its story. As the story unfolds, the practitioner invites the body to go a little further into its pattern and the body begins to unwind holding patterns that contribute to pain, anxiety, illness and disease. It is used to treat conditions such as head injuries, concussion, traumatic brain injury, stress/anxiety, PTSD, headaches, migraines, sinusitis, eustachian tube dysfunctions, TMJ, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, central nervous system disorders and structural issues of pain and tension such as neck pain, back pain and sciatic pain to name a few. CST can be performed as a stand-alone treatment or combined with massage.

reiki energy work palm springs

Reiki | Energy Work

Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

prenatal pregnancy massage

Prenatal Massage

A comfortable, stress-reducing massage for the mother-to-be in her second or third trimester. Customized massage techniques and body positioning relieve the aches and pains commonly associated with pregnancy.
